This past Saturday as part of Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing’s Rockin’ Fights 30; Danny “El Gallo” Gonzalez moved to 15-1-1 6KO’s after dispatching his opponent Juan Rodriguez (8-8-1 7KO’s) in five rounds. Coming back from his first setback, Gonzalez took on a tough fighter in Rodriguez who has some good wins over undefeated prospects on his resume; and he looked to upset the odds once again. Unfortunately for Rodriguez it would not be his night as El Gallo was ready to redeem himself and put on a dazzling display of defense and punch selection that stunned his opponent and kept him guessing. As the rounds progressed you could see the Universal Boxing Gym fighter continue to press and find openings for his power punches, and in the fifth round an overhand right rocked his opponent as he unleashed over a dozen unanswered blows which caused the referee to mercifully end the onslaught. For now El Gallo is back in the game awaiting his next return to the ring, we greatly appreciate all of the support and look to perform in-front of everyone once again!
“Danny Gonzalez (15-1-1 6KO Woodhaven, NY) bounced back nicely from his last fight, a shocking TKO loss at the hands of Danny O’Connor, stopping the very tough Juan Rodriguez (8-8-1 7KO Haymarket, VA) in the 5th of a scheduled 8 round Jr. Welterweight fight. Keeping with the pattern of the evening the two fighters stood toe to toe for much of the fight with both landing hard shots. The 5th and final round saw Gonzalez hurt Rodriguez with a left right combination and finish him off with a flurry of punches forcing referee Tony Chiarantano to bring a halt to the action against the game Rodriquez.”- WBN
